HealthCareMatch ("the App") helps connect healthcare facilities (e.g., hospitals) with volunteers. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
Information We Collect
We collect only the information needed to operate the App:
1. Account & Contact Information
- Email address (for account creation, login, and account communication)
- Name (to display on your profile and support matching/coordination)
- Phone number and facility contact details (if provided)
- Physical address (for facilities, to display location and enable local matching)
- Website (if provided)
2. Identifiers
- User ID (an internal account identifier used to operate the service and link your account to your activity)
3. Location
- Precise location (used to show nearby facilities/needs and improve matching based on proximity)
4. User Content
- Other user content you submit in the App, such as facility "needs" posts and messages or coordination notes
Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect payment information.
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not use your data for advertising.
- We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
- We do not use the above data for tracking as defined by Apple (i.e., linking with third-party data for targeted advertising or sharing with a data broker).
How We Use Information
We use the information we collect only for App functionality, including to:
- Create and manage user accounts (authentication and security)
- Enable core features (posting needs, finding nearby opportunities, coordinating)
- Display facility profiles and contact details to support volunteer coordination
- Prevent fraud/abuse and maintain platform integrity
- Provide customer support
Sharing
We share information only as necessary to operate the App (for example, displaying a facility's posted needs and facility contact/location details to volunteers, and showing volunteer participation to the relevant facility). We do not share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers.
Data Retention
We retain information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data.
Your Choices

- You can also manage certain information (e.g., profile details) within the App where available.
- You can disable location access in your device settings; proximity features may not work.
